Diane & Teddie tie the knot with their Jewish wedding in Rome at the beautiful Villa Aurelia.
Diane and Teddie, Villa Aurelia
Anything is possible for a destination Jewish Wedding in Rome, especially when it comes to honouring the faiths and traditions of two couples and their families as they join together in matrimony.
When we were introduced to the lovely couple Diane & Teddie, their story unravelled as they told us about their plans to have an interfaith wedding in Italy.
It was most certainly a first for Wedinitaly, to arrange this type of ceremony, with not one, not two, but three different types of religions. With that in mind, Raffaella and the team got to work. The plan was to successfully bring together three celebrants in one ceremony, from the Jewish, Catholic and Evangelical faiths to join in one ceremony for our beautiful couple. And we did it!
The couple first met in London, where Teddie met his American dream Diane. Both of them however where strangers in their own town with roots that reached further afield than the UK. Diane had come over to work from America and also has Chinese origin with both her parents being from Hong Kong.
Teddie on the other hand was a blond tall handsome chap from Finland… it therefore goes without saying that a destination wedding on neutral territory seemed to be the perfect solution for a multicultural wedding.
Rome seemed to be the ultimate choice for the couple for hosting their Jewish and interfaith wedding abroad…
Villa Aurelia, a 17th Century venue the heart of Rome, painted the perfect picture for the couple’s big day.
The biggest selling point was the garden, beautifully manicured with pockets of private areas and ornate sculptures, it was the perfect scenery and also neutral grounds for an interfaith ceremony.
Married in the serene oasis all to themselves, Diane and Teddie’s Jewish Wedding in Rome found them saying ‘I Do’ under a floral structure of blush and pink roses, carefully put together by Simona from Floralia.
Diane wore one of the most spectacular wedding dresses, and was from the latest Spring 2016 collection of Marchesa. The white, off the shoulder ball gown with textured flower skirt looked absolutely stunning and perfectly matched the floral surroundings of the Villa and the gardens… We would often suggest to brides that they make sure they pick a dress that also suits the venue in which they choose to marry in, and Diane matched the two in pure harmony.
